Elevator belt conveyors
Elevator belt conveyors are used to transport parcels to a defined destination.
They are either ascending at the beginning of the conveyor and then horizontal or first horizontal and then descending. Transmission is carried out via head drives or middle drives.
Due to the more economical use of material in the head drive, it is lighter and fewer spare parts are required. However, due to the larger wrap angle of the belt, the drive power can be better transferred to the belt with the middle drive. This makes it possible to build longer belts and to transport heavier weights. The belt can also be tensioned in two ways: Either by shifting the drive/deflection drum or by a central middle tensioning station, whereby the latter can also be operated from one side.
The elevator belt conveyors equipped with separately height-adjustable support feet to optimally adjust the conveying level. In the case of ceiling mounting, suitable suspension devices are included for easy installation on site.

Belt conveyor
The belt conveyor can transport shipping units horizontally, upwards or downwards to a defined destination.
If the belt conveyor moves at an incline either up or down, an additional belt is used at the lower end. The transmission takes place with a low-maintenance chain transmission. To ensure that the transfer to the next conveyor is as gentle and quiet as possible, transition bends with increments of 6 degrees are used at the upper conveyor level.
A belt conveyor is driven by a head or middle drive. Due to the more economical use of material in the head drive, it is lighter and fewer spare parts are required. Due to the larger wrap angle of the belt with the middle drive, it can better transfer the drive power to the belt, which allows the construction of longer belts and the transport of heavier weights. The belt can also be tensioned in two ways: Either by shifting the drive/deflection drum or by a central tensioning station. The advantage of the middle clamping station is that it can be operated from one side. In all cases, the belt runs via the deflection drum.

The base frame and transverse spacers of our belt conveyor are made of extruded aluminium with a wall thickness of 4 mm and are additionally bolted to ensure maximum stability. The side guides can be integrated into the profile or set up as an additional guide above the scaffolding. The belt’s running surface is made of galvanized sheet steel.

Baggage conveyor systems
Baggage pusher
The baggage pusher enables the baggage to be allocated to different destinations very quickly. This makes it possible to sort up to 1800 pieces of baggage per hour. The impulse-like ejection process of the fail-safe sorting system is carried out particularly gently thanks to a specially developed eccentric drive.

Baggage conveyor systems
Baggage lifter
The baggage lifter is used to connect two or more conveyor lines that are on different levels.
The hoist is designed with toothed belts. It is driven by a three-phase motor, which can optionally be equipped with a frequency converter. For higher performance, more torque can be provided with a servo-motor in combination with a rotary encoder for positioning. The lifting motor is mounted on the lower deflection for better maintenance accessibility.
A belt conveyor is attached to the baggage lifter as a load carrier. For gap monitoring between stationary and moving conveyor technology, either light barriers or light grids are used.

Baggage conveyor systems
Baggage deflectors
The baggage deflector divides up different pieces of baggage running one after the other in a conveying flow.
Before the arrival of the defined pieces of luggage, the deflector swivels onto the conveyor line and assigns a continuous row of baggage to another conveyor line. After the baggage has been diverted to a different destination, the deflector swivels back to its original position and remains there until it is activated again. The ejection can take place at an angle of 90 or 45 degrees. If the ejection angle is specified as 45 degrees, then an angle belt conveyor must be planned into the conveyor line.

Check-in
Baggage is checked in and registered at the airport. The technical feasibility, the ergonomics for passengers and staff, the visual appeal and, of course, all safety-related aspects must be taken into account here.
Our two-part check-in consists of a weighing belt and an infeed belt. The piece of baggage is weighed on the weighing belt, labelled and then forwarded to the infeed belt. There the piece of baggage is then ready to be transferred to the collection belt.
With our three-part check-in, a label belt is inserted between the weighing belt and the transfer belt. After weighing, the piece of baggage is labelled on the label belt, then it is clocked onto the infeed belt, where it is ready to be inducted onto the collection belt. At the same time, the next piece of baggage is transported from the weighing belt to the label belt.
The infeed process onto the collection belt is carried out in the same way for two-part and three-part check-in. After the definition of ‘windows’ on the collection belt, the piece of baggage is automatically channelled into a free window after it has been made available.
There is a baggage handler at the end of the infeed belt so that the baggage is not transferred while standing on the collection belt and transported onward. The special positioning and shape provides the optimal level of baggage protection.
To improve accessibility for maintenance, the check-in can also be designed to be pulled out or hinged. The version with extendible slide has the advantage that maintenance of the units is very easy, as the complete unit including scales can be pulled out to the front and is thus accessible from all sides. Compared to the pull-out check-in, the folding check-in has the advantage that the passenger routes do not have to be changed in the event of maintenance.

Conveyor systems
Baggage conveyor systems from HÖRMANN Klatt Conveyors
Our baggage handling systems meet the expectations of airport operators in terms of speed, absolute availability and the best quality at fair prices.
They reliably transport and distribute baggage from check-in to the ramp and from the ramp to baggage claim.
Our experienced project teams enthusiastically develop innovations for the baggage handling systems of the future. The construction and processing of steel or stainless steel is designed to function perfectly in the long term - i.e. even beyond the warranty period.

Container conveyor systems
Step-overs
Step-overs are required to enable or facilitate accessibility for maintenance or to reduce distances. But also due to legal safety regulations, step-overs, for example as escape routes, are planned.
The following step-overs can be used depending on the area of application:
- Step-overs for conveyor section access
- Step-overs without conveyor section access
- Step-overs with platforms (step ladders, ladders)
- Step-overs from side guide to side guide without conveyor section access and no platform

Vertical conveyor
The vertical conveyor is used to connect two or more conveyor lines that are on different levels. The hoist is guided by a toothed belt and driven by a three-phase motor with a frequency converter. For higher performance, more torque can be provided with a servo-motor in combination with a rotary encoder for positioning. The lifting motor is mounted on the lower deflection for better maintenance accessibility.
Depending on the requirements of the goods to be conveyed, various load handling devices, such as, a roller, belt or accumulation roller conveyors can be attached. For gap monitoring between stationary and moving conveyor technology, either light barriers or light grids are used. In accordance with the applicable safety regulations, each vertical conveyor is fitted with protective fencing.

Container conveyor systems
Rotary table with container conveyor
The rotary table with container conveyor is used to deflect or turn conveyors by 90 or 180 degrees.
The container rotary table consists of a gear rim, which is connected to an attached container conveyor and driven by a three-phase motor with a pinion, which rotates at an infinitely variable angle.
